A compilation of celestial originals & sublime live jams celebrating the first year and a half of existence from Lakewaves Trio: a Madison-centric "ambient prog-funk" outfit led by keyboardist & solo instrumental artist Graham Marlowe (aka Lakewaves).

The Trio's shapeshifting sets can vary widely from night to night, although unlike their live shows, this album has no guest appearances, Herbie Hancock covers or palo santo wafting nearby.

The group likes to follow its unusually gratifying formula of adapting "solo Graham (i.e., Lakewaves)" material into dreamy tangentials, reinventing both vocal and non-vocal covers into uniquely arranged instrumentals, and spontaneously composing to the moment and vibe(s) of the room(s) they play to to create an infectious, jazz-inflected ambience that your ears can ride on for hours.

Some describe it as a "looser Medeski, Martin & Wood" and others describe it as being out for Cosmic Bowling Night with a cosmic infusion in their cocktails.

The tracks - as well as their titles - are groove-based, Impressionistic and imagistic, which sometimes sets an irreverent, Dada-absurdist backdrop for their enjoyably exploratory (and oftentimes danceable) music experiences. Lakewaves Trio cites The Flaming Lips as a primary influence on their zany-title/inspirational-music aesthetic.
